Mr. Jimmy Jacob | Pacific Adventist University
Jan-Mar 2025
Our journey to AIIAS feels divinely orchestrated, driven by a calling for deeper academic and spiritual growth. My family and I are motivated to become Adventist Christian educators and leaders, and our time at AIIAS has significantly shaped our worldview, honed our leadership skills, and strengthened our faith. The multicultural environment and rigorous academics have helped us grow as both scholars and compassionate, Christ-centered leaders.
From the beginning—through visa processes, financial support, the God Food Basket Ministry, academic adjustments, and health challenges—God's presence has been evident. He provided us with mentors, inspiring lecturers, friends, and unexpected opportunities. We always had just what we needed, right on time—God's time.
Academically, I learned to think critically, conduct research, write clearly, and lead with vision. Spiritually, I recognized the importance of daily surrender, community prayer, and trusting God's timeline. AIIAS nurtured both intellectual rigor and spiritual depth, equipping me with practical leadership tools and a servant-leader mindset while teaching me to adapt to diverse cultural and educational settings—skills essential for my role at PAU.
I feel a mix of gratitude, awe, and humility in returning to serve at Pacific Adventist University, honored by God's trust in me for this responsibility. There’s also anticipation and a sense of duty, as this continues His plan for my life and my family's ministry. Transitioning has been challenging, especially for my children, but our faith anchored us. We prayed together, made decisions collaboratively, and reminded one another of God's promises. Faith transformed uncertainty into trust and fear into peace.
Reflecting on our journey, I recall moments when God provided for tuition, food, and encouragement, as well as instances where doors opened unexpectedly. These experiences serve as our 'Ebenezer stones,' reminders of God’s love and care during our time at AIIAS.
To those still studying and preparing for their calling, I urge you to remain faithful and focused. Trust the process of breaking and refining—Romans 8:29-30 reminds us that those God foreknew, He also predestined. Every lecture, worship, prayer meeting, and challenge shapes you for a purpose beyond yourself. Your calling is worth the sacrifice.
It’s not about you; it’s all about God, who calls and equips you for His mission. I aspire to be a channel of blessing, encouragement, mentorship, and Christ-like leadership. My goal is to foster both academic excellence and spiritual growth, instilling a strong sense of mission in students and colleagues.
In summary, our journey epitomizes "Grace upon grace." Every step— from departure to arrival, from struggle to success—was enveloped in God's unmerited favor for His glory and purpose.
