On June 15, 2025, the Premier Plaza in Silang, Cavite buzzed with a different kind of excitement, one not of shopping or sales, but of service, compassion, and community care. In celebration of Father’s Day, the Public Health class of the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) hosted a Health Expo that transformed an ordinary Sunday into a day of wellness and awareness.
This vibrant initiative, held just minutes away from the AIIAS campus, was a special collaboration between students, professionals, and members of the wider community, including representation from the South Pacific Division (SPD)—Viliame Rabuka. Among the passionate students serving was an SPD member, reflecting the global unity and shared mission of our Adventist educational institutions: to serve humanity through Christ-centered health and healing ministries.
The bustling Premier Plaza, home to supermarkets, eateries, pharmacies, hardware stores, bookstores, and even a children’s play center, became a temporary hub for health transformation. Visitors were welcomed to booths offering free health screenings, wellness coaching, lifestyle assessments, and nutrition guidance.
Friendly smiles, professional assessments, and Christ-like service made the event stand out in the eyes of local residents. People from all walks of life flocked to the expo, eager to understand their health better. Many expressed deep gratitude, not just for the services received, but for the warm, personal approach of the students who took time to listen and encourage.
“This is such a blessing,” one father shared. “You don’t often get this kind of care freely offered. It makes us feel valued.”
For Viliame Rabuka, this was more than an academic requirement, it was a chance to live out his calling. One student reflected, “Seeing people light up after a simple conversation about their health reminds me why I chose this path. We’re not just teaching information, we’re sharing hope.”
And hope was indeed in the air. As Father’s Day honored the strength and love of fathers, the Health Expo offered them, and the whole community a precious gift: the tools and encouragement to lead healthier, fuller lives.
This initiative is a beautiful reminder that mission doesn't wait for a pulpit or a hospital, it happens wherever people are. Whether it’s in a bustling mall or a quiet village, when hearts are willing and hands are ready, healing follows.
We praise God for the dedication of the AIIAS Public Health Class, for Viliame Rabuka who represented our community with pride and humility, and for the community that embraced the message of health and hope with open arms. May this be just one of many more ripples of positive change across the islands and beyond.
